I own a Windows PC and Malwarebytes' Malware Removal for Windows board works a bit differently in that only approved malware removal experts and Malwarebytes employees are allowed to respond to requests for assistance in that Windows board. What you're describing sounds like the same problem being discussed in dmoran442's thread Chill Tab Malware, and Malwarebytes employee treed noted in post # 7 that this could be a new variant of VSearch. Since Malwarebytes for Mac didn't solve the problem, I'd suggest starting a new thread in their Malware Removal for Mac forum.
